1.7 Endura Won't Start

Featured Replies

Hello,

Please can someone help me, i have a 1997 fiesta 1.7 endure de mk4, been a great little car till the other day, i jumped in to go out and it wouldn't start, got dash lights but wouldn't turn over. I borrowed a battery and set of jump leads thinking the battery was low and still wouldn't turn over.

I asked my dad to to me down the road in the range rover, still wouldn't start.

i jumped the starter motor and it worked fine, still wouldn't start.

i don't know what is wrong with the darn thing.

Maybe Imobiliser not sure if light still come on with that. Maybe simple as key fob battery ?

Do you hear a whine before the starter cranks over? If you don't it could be a fuel pump. Or as said, have you tried the other key to see if it's the battery that's went as I'm sure the key will be coded to the cars immobiliser?

hello

the car doesn't turn over from the key, a pull start didn't get it going, everything sounded normal whilst trying to pull start it.

I only have 1 key for it.

i thought there was a way of bypassing the pump immobiliser?

ok, i put a jump wire to starter and it turned over fine, still didn't start

I put power to the solenoids on fuel pump ( i heard them click) turned over but still won't start.

there must be a away of bypassing the immobiliser on the fuel pump. it is an old fashioned type of pump with cable throttle.
