JonnWhite
I've got a 08 mk2.5 auto. I'm looking to add the push to start system and maybe keyless entry? How can I do this if it is possible! JW1982
It is possible but a lot of parts are needed to retrofit the keyless start system. You will need the following parts: * Keyless module. * Interior wiring loom from a keyless vehicle. * Floor wiring loom from a keyless vehicle. * Keyless start button. * Steering collumn from a keyless vehicle with electronic steering lock. * Keyless key fob (2X). * Several interior sensors to receive the signal of the keyless key fobs. For keyless entry you need the following parts also: * Door wiring looms from a keyless vehicle (for all doors). * Tailgate wiring loom from a keyless vehicle. * Door lock mechanisms with sensors from a keyless vehicle. * Tailgate lock mechanism with sensor from a keyless vehicle. The Keyless system also needs to be programmed into the car. This basically means that many modules of the car needs to be reprogrammed. The PATS system of the instrument cluster must be switched off because the PATS system of keyless start vehicles is controlled by the keyless module. .Martin
Completely off topic but... What engine do you have in your auto? I've had three petrol 1.6s and want to move to a 2.0 but I'm interested in the mpg. If you have a 2l could you let me know?
