DaveTheDog
Just a small selection..................................... Ianb
Actually, I can join in with a few gripes, having a business line I'm forever bombarded with calls about saving me money, well to start with, I require that line in order to MAKE money, so if they got off the phone that would be a money saving start! Following on from that, the callers are occasionally from some of my suppliers already, and when they ask me "can we ask who supplies your xyz" and I reply with "you" the anger I feel and the embarrassment they must feel are immense... We all know there is very little "personal service" as a business I know I'm just a small name in a huge ocean of names, especially for big suppliers, but you like to feel that you are special and do get a personal service (because that's what these companies tell you they will give you) so if they can't even bluff the personal service then why do I bother with them? (Good prices I guess..) Still on the call front, I divert the company phone to my mobile, so sometimes when a foreign number pops up I can see where it actually is from "MA, USA" etc, when I answer the phone and a clear americanised Indian voice asks me who my local energy supplier is, it drives me insane, local for who? You're in the !Removed! US!!! Then there's the tele scammers, recently chatted to a neighbour who told me he likes to ask them if their mother would be proud of them.. Haven't had a victim to use that one on yet... The neighbour also said he had a call where someone said, "Can we confirm your name?" He answered with yes...... There was a long silence and they said "well what is your name?" He replied "you're the one wanting to confirm it, you tell me!" I did get a chance to use the "it's not convenient to talk at the moment, if you give me your home number I'll phone you tonight at say half 8 and we can chat then" quote, on a call centre, they didn't appreciate that.. Phil 87
Yeah I share your hate for the cold callers. I just don't answer the phone if it's a number I don't recognise, and if it's something genuine they'll leave a message (obviously you can't do that with a business line). I've heard that just answering one of their calls can make it more likely that you'll get more calls, because they have lists of numbers which are likely to give them a response. jmurray01
Yeah that ruins a good car. Even worse if there are kids in the back and they think it's ok with the window cracked open. I agree with you regarding children being in the back, but I think it is a basic right that if you have paid for a car that you can smoke in it! How is a person smoking in their own personal vehicle affecting anybody elses life? It isn't!! On the bright side, I just found another thing I don't like
Philf1
God I hate them if I want to use your service I'll !Removed! ring you but it won't be at 8pm on a Sunday!!! I now don't answer the call if I don't know the number then block the number saves me lots of grief in the future. RAIDER32
I think it is a basic right that if you have paid for a car that you can smoke in it! How is a person smoking in their own personal vehicle affecting anybody elses life? It isn't!! In this case it was the passenger smoking, if he doesn't smoke then he should grow a pair and make her wait. I also referenced the state the car will be in when it's sold, it would be a shame to go see a Focus RS (or any nice car) only to find it stinks and had cigarette burns in the seats. I'm only jealous that he was driving an RS and not me, If I owned it I would always keep it clean, and call it 'My Precious'.

On the bright side, I just found another thing I don't like I agree completely, if any adult passengers don't mind or are smokers themselves. I just wouldn't buy a car if a previous owner smoked in it, if I could even tell.
jeebowhite
It's rubbish, I remember when the government was going to ban smoking outside... Seriously? WTAF! It's becoming a dictatorship in this country. Even the electronic cigarettes are now being taxed because the government's losing revenue from people who have quit smoking and started vaping. It annoys me so much when you have them campaigning 'cigarettes kill, let's hide them so you can't be tempted, and try scare you to stop, and if you succeed in swapping we will tax you... And if you succeed in stopping, we will charge you more in other tax so we can keep our heads above water' Switching from smoking to vaping gives you the same hit and the same feeling, but it's legal indoors and it saves serious cash. I made the switch over a year ago and my costs went down from about 80 per month to about 15 or less... Then the government boosted it, now I have gone to cheaper stuff and can get by on a month for less than a tenner, but to have the same stuff I was on would now cost double what it did when I started.
Phil 87
I absolutely agree about vaping, not a smoker myself but I don't see why people have such an objection to water vapour lol. Unless there is some proven harm to passive vaping like there is with passive smoking, it should be legal to do it anywhere in my opinion, except places like schools and anywhere that kids might be encouraged to do it. Maybe it is legal everywhere and it's just people and companies trying to impose their rules on other people, I don't know.
Stoney871
The NHS is trying to make it so that while you'll be allowed to buy the base liquids anywhere, you will only be able to get the nicotine content by prescription. Rediculous.

Ianb
To be fair James, I think your 'dictatorship' post should be accompanied with #firstworldproblems I personally don't smoke, so I'm more in the anti smoking corner, but I get that smokers have their views too..but..not being allowed total freedom is a smidge far from being a dictatorship... I started to watch the movie 'the purge' the other night, I can't remember the exact line but it said something like "any weapons up to class 4(?) are allowed to be used"... Now that's sort of saying 'dictatorship' there, 'I'm allowed 12 hours to commit any crimes I want, but only with certain weapons????' But yeh... Smoking will always be a 'hot' topic... laumk7
Things I don't like at the moment are: my cars' start stop feature, feels like /looks like I'm stalling the car all over the place when I forget to turn the fricking thing off! What it needs is a permanent way of being disabled Slow drivers in lane 3 of the motorway Tailbacks on the motorway caused by the Cheltenham festival Potholes with spray paint around them, so the authorities know they're there so fill the fricking things in then!!! My new in built sat nav leading me a merry goose chase rather than a direct route No one being in when I phone them, I'm still trying to cancel my last cars' GAP cover but due to rubbish office hours I can't get hold of them Sent from my iPad using Ford OC

What I hate even more than that is when they overfill the potholes so it's just as bad going over them as before they filled them lol.
