I'm wanting to replace my main beam bulbs at the same time as my low, I am a little confused as to what bulb type they are though? are they H15 or H11 or what?

H15 I believe?

Yeh that's what everything seems to say but they're hardly any decent bulbs available in that size, was gonna get some night breakers but they don't seem to make that fitment :(

Had a look on eBay? I think my mate has the same issue with her Golf. She wants to get rid of the yellow DRL... but explained to her that the DRL is also her main beam [share same bulb]. I did find some H15 bulbs with a blue glass... but they don't come cheap!

Thank me later! ;)

Ah that's the kinda thing I need, cheers mate :) So what relation do the main beams have to the DRLs? do the DRLs use a set of these bulbs or do they channel light directly from them??

Well my DRL's are fitted into the headlight, same with yours I believe. We don't have that annoying yellow "blob" like on the models lower than Titanium (Zetec, Style, Studio.. etc). Unsure why the main beam is H15 on the Fiesta, as nothing else shares the bulb (nothing I can think of anyway). As the dipped beams are a H7 bulb, little pickled if you ask me.

But I know that on a MK6 VW Golf, the DRL light and main beam - share same bulb, as it has 2 filaments inside. Very much like a stop/tail bulb.

So basically the full beam bulbs are in no way related to the DRLs on our lights then, I guess there's no chance of changing their colour then.

I think I might go for these, a little more pricey but they'll match my HIDs exactly: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-2Pcs-Lot-Supperbright-H15-55w-12v-Halogen-4300K-Daytime-Running-Light-For-NEW-Touran/2023545261.html

Aliexpress to the rescue yet again haha

Gotta love AliExpress!

As for the DRL's on Fiesta, if you look though the booklet (inside your pack) - it does mention that if the DRL's fail, then you're meant to visit the dealer for repair - it's not a simple DIY job as I'm guessing the DRL's are built into the headlight. I've taken these headlights off my Fiesta to fit the HID kit, I did have a look over the headlight and couldn't see a way to access the DRL. You can however access the dipped beam (H7), main beam (H15) and indicator bulbs only - by removing the rubber covers.

If you've got an ST 3 then I'm sure you need H1 for main beam / H7 dipped beam and DRLs are the strip of built in LEDs like mine.

The ST has H1's not H15 the manual is wrong

If your headlights look like this then the above bulbs apply.

Have either of you guys replaced your full beam bulbs with H1's? If so then I'll get some night breakers ordered.

Me, me. I did :)

Right fantastic, I'll get them ordered :D

I can recommend Osram Cool Blue Intense for bulbs. I have them in my full beam and fogs. Definitely an improvement over the Nightbreakers, colour wise, though I expect even they will look yellow compared to the HIDs on the way!

I couldn't decide on cool blue or night breaker so I have ordered both :D I'm interested to see which I prefer. I'll post some pics showing how they both look once I get them in.
