also when fitting your HID make sure you rotate the bulbs 180 degrees as in this post ..very easy to do and well worth the time.

I have 5000k http://www.hids4u.co.uk/H7-55w-Ultimate-Xenon-HID-Conversion-Kit-H7ULT3.html

i have these absolutely brilliant, got them adjusted at a large ford dealer so as not to risk dazzle.the difference is amazing on the roads.as to the ballasts they get warm but not hot.

I went with 4300k in the end and i'm really happy with them. They are extremely bright and colour appears pure white, no halogen bulbs I have seen even come close to that colour. I'm using the cheap kit suggested earlier and haven't had any issues but I don't have any with the more expensive kits - I'd imagine they're better quality.

How much did it cost you to get them adjusted Paul, would you say it was worth it? Also did the dealer say anything about you using HIDs :P

Pedal covers fitted. The accelerator one was bladdy awful to fit. I'm not convinced it is an exact fit, but I've got it on and it's secure.

Yes. Agree there!

I'm pretty confident that I fitted the accelerator ok, as I pushed all the 4 clips around As tight as possible.

Will check them now and again, just to see if they come loose.

Dealer said that the HID don't dazzle in projector beam headlamps if adjusted properly,no charge took him a few mins and one was a bit low .

Ah right that's interesting. I might have a look at getting that done then, good of them to do it for free

I've had them too long now haha

Do you know any sidelights that will not look yellow?

I'm not too sure i'm afraid, As mine has the built in LED DRL's.

When my DRL's are on during daytime - they look white. But when I have the HID's on the DRL's look "yellowish" compared to my HID's.

Oh okay no worries I'll just have to leave it, cheers anyway

Get the sidelights off eBay mate, they are the 4 cluster led type and they look spot on with HIDs! If you've got the H15 DRL then you'll hate them for being so yellow haha!

That'd what they look like, that's the first listing I came across, you'll probably get cheaper if you look about.

Yup, got them in with my 6000k and you can't tell the difference at all!

The DRLs actually dim and look more yellow when the headlamps come on which is annoying as it makes the problem of colour difference worse.

I would also recommend LEDs to match the HIDs as halogen bulbs will never come close. I have "xenon white" LEDs for all my interior/ number plate lights and they match my 4300k HIDs.

It's fine though, I can live with it ;)

Update time: Unfortunately my passenger side HID bulb has developed a fault causing it to flash off every 10 seconds or so. I've had the whole thing apart and tested the bulb on the drivers side and the fault went with it. It even does it when the car is stationary. I've ordered a new set of bulbs from HIDS-direct so I can take advantage of their warranty but I think I just got unlucky and either got a bad bulb or damaged it when installing it. When I removed it I noticed that the metal strip which runs along the bulb was bent so it may be down to me.

Not the worst problem in the world and luckily it was just the bulb not the ballast but I thought I'd let everyone know.

Thanks for the update!

Update from me too - my £12 ones from AliExpress are still going fine :)

If you're referring to the one's in the ceiling, they simply "pop" out when you push the metal clip in. You need a pry tool or something with a flat edge, to ease it out (pry tools are better, just so you won't damage the plastic surround). The clip can be found towards to middle of the light holder/cover, Very easy job to do! I've replaced all my interior bulbs to LED now.

Sounds so much easier than what I was trying 😂 and what bulb types are they?
