jlr
Bought a used 2011 fusion, and wanted to remove a rear wheel to check the rear breaks. Took the lug nuts off, but the wheel is stuck and won't come off. Tried beating the wheel with a hammer but was unsuccessful. Any suggestions? Stoney871
A few whacks with a rubber mallet onto the face of the wheel will usually unstick it.
troy45
Put the rear wheel nuts back on the car but leave them slightly loose then drop the car back off the jack - the weight of the car can help break the wheel free from the hub. Next step would be to try driving the car forwards and backwards to see if that helps. Just make sure you don't go driving it away with the wheel still loose.
stef123
Try sitting in front of the wheel and kick the tyre left and right, turning it overt few kicks. Failing that a piece of wood and a sledge hammer on the back of the wheel works.
madmole
And when you do get it off, don't forget to cover all the mating faces in copper grease so it doesn't stick next time. Aluminium wheels electrolytically weld to steel hubs when covered in salt and water, best to keep a grease barrier between them
