Trading My Titanium For A New Black Edition

Featured Replies

I was contacted by Ford a couple of weeks ago, earlier than I expected as my 2 months 'Options' plan wasn't up until June, but before going in to meet with them (Whilst the girlfriend was having her hair done..... Drain!) and saw the Zetec S Black edition and fell in love!

Some are saying it is tacky looking on the forum, but I honestly think it is the perfect balance between mean and mordern and is professionally done.

I'm a bit sad that I will lose my power fold mirrors as that is the main way I figure out if the car is locked! But I think it is a nice trade.

I am going from:

13 Plate 1.0 100PS Titanium in White with: Tinted Windows, Heated Leather Seats, DAB Radio, Full Dressup kit, EATC, 17" Alloys

And will now have:

15 Plate 1.0 140PS Zetec S Black with: Tinted Windows, SatNav/DAB Radio, Rear Parking Sensors, EATC, Spare Wheel, Cruise Control, Auto Headlights/Wipers

All I am really losing is my heated leather seats (by choice!). I figured I only need heated seats because of the leather, and I never wanted them on the original but had one already made.

As they amended an existing order, I am expecting the delivery at some point in April in theory.

I also got the wheel repair and scuff repair (My current Titanium unfortunately got scraped by some ballbag that didn't leave any notes!) and the alloys were dreadfully 'ruined', so I figured that was a good option. And, after looking at a DiamondBrite car (And seeing how dirty my car was at the weekend after 3 months of no washing!) I got that too. But decided against the GAP insurance which is so much cheaper elsewhere. And went for 3 years this time anyway for cheaper payments.

I can even choose my own license plate (from a selection of 10 at the time of registration, so I might actually get one that spells something unlike my last 3 cars!).

Got the lot for £15400, which I don't think is too bad, could have more than likely got a better deal but I got fed up on the third 'disappearing act' and went with it, having in mind that I will save a ridiculous amount of money on the upcoming June service too, and not expecting much of a deposit from my car with the damage it had (Albeit only costing them about £20 probably!) and still getting a decent deposit from it.

Pretty happy, but a long wait now before I can get behind the wheel of 40 extra horses! Sad about having to pay tax on this one but it isn't as if it'll break the bank ;)

Edit - Oh. also really sad that DMB no longer sell Ford badges! The dealer was impressed with the look of them on my current car! (Black on White). Anyone know anywhere (Other than ebay) where I can get my hands on some red on black badges?

How much did Ford give you for the Titanium?

£9000. Got £300 more than what they valued it at (8700). And £1300 more than the guaranteed value. This took into consideration the required service, mega scuffed 2 front wheels, and some fairly severely damaged bumper (paintwork).

It has 12k miles on it but they put it in at 15k as supposedly they do it in 5000s and value it for 2 months time.

It has also been involved in a relatively major crash where the whole back end was rebuilt, passenger door and side panels replaced. Some silly cow in one of those old mk1 focuses pulled out on me! ;) As it wasn't a cat repair they know nothing of that though, although the repairs were good, I would still rather a new car :)

Thought you might want to know what a Mk 1 Focus pulling out on a Mk 7.5 Fiesta looks like... Wasn't pretty! Whole rear end pretty much needed rebuilding and obviously a couple of new alloys were thrown in too... Somehow managed to fry the battery too (Which they only realised after returning it to me and my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with the Stop/Start not working etc.)

Has anybody had their order brought forward?

I said to the sales guy that my birthday was the 16th so would be nice to get it before then, he said it was currently due for delivery between 20th and 30th April. When I went in to see a showroom version of the car he said that the car that he changed the order of (so we get it quicker) was built 4 days after he changed it and was already on its way to Belgium, and said delivery is going to be more like 13th-23rd so I could potentially have it for my birthday!

Not sure if he is just trying to keep me sweet or whether he is telling the truth. I would never trust a sales person with anything but !Removed! you over for their own personal gain..
