Day Time Running Lights

Featured Replies

Bought these lights with using them as day time lights in mind but insurance will not let me have them. Under £5 and I was thinking about using them for something else maybe glove box, boot or foot well lighting. Only problem is they need 12v to run and I'm not sure which is the best place to tap power from and how.

Any ideas?

How come the insurers won't let you?

How come the insurers won't let you?

No idea, I'm with Tesco Black box insurance, they said they'd let me tint my windows but having day time lights isn't allowed and lights inside the car are. Strange imo.

Tesco make it up as they go along, I'm sure of it!!

Surely that's a load of bull? They're definitely making that up... or don't know what they're talking about?

That's most insurers isn't it? If we don't know what it is or does just say no.

Can't see the issue with you fitting DRLs, the EU think they're are such a good idea for safety that all new cars have to have them.

Sounds about right!!

There's a constant 12v supply for the cigarette lighter, use it :))

Spoke to them again and they said i could have them but not on the outside of the car, only inside. Apparently within the headlights counts as inside the car but i cannot have them within the bumper.

Gotta figure out how im going to put them in the headlights.
