Wheel Woollies Or A Detailing Brush?

For cleaning my wheels

I'm currently using a soft detailing brush, but I'm looking at wheel woollies. Will they make the blinding bit of difference or am I better off just sticking to cleaning with a soft detailing brush?

The brush I'm using is like this:

Toothbrush does the job well

I use a brush to spread the cleaner around and get some physical action on the brake dust to loosen it all up. I do each wheel in turn like that, so they get a bit of time for the cleaner to work.

Then I rinse each wheel off, and finish off with a micro-fibre cloth, that I only use for that purpose.

I'll then seal them every now and then, depending on how I feel, lol.

So in answers to your question... both?

You use a soft detailing brush for the face then the wheel woollies for the wheel backs. That's what I've been using for years now and works a treat.

I've bought for the moment another detailing brush, hopefully this one will last longer than its cheaper counterpart and I'll get some wheel woollies when I get paid again. I armoured up the facing of the wheels this afternoon with c5 and peering through the inner is manky as hell already, so might need some decent fallout cleaner and take the wheels off when I do that.

Bet the lemon doesn't mask the smell though

Smells rank usually then does it?

Quick question, would a fallout cleaner munch through my newly applied wheel sealant? I don't mind I just want to know if I need to reapply or not

No it shouldn't take off the wheel sealant. I recommend the angelwax revelation as that is ph neutral you can get it at angelwax.co.uk

Just make sure it's ph neutral and you should be ok

Ok I've just invested in some wheel woollies, and some dragons breath fallout cleaner (is this stuff ph neutral?), when it all gets here I've got the task of cleaning the backs of my alloys, which are already rank  - I've had the car 2 weeks!

Yeah it's PH neutral but be warned it stinks absolutely rank like all fall out cleaners do 🙊. But don't worry it will be fine on the wheels and the c5. For just general weekly cleaning the bilberry wheel cleaner that they do will keep them looking great in between major cleans. The dragons breath can also be used on the body work of the car as well if you notice fallout there as well. But you should be fine for a while with it being 2 weeks old.
