* Fiesta Titanium X Camera/parking Sw Q's

Featured Replies

I'm still getting used to the gadgets on this car and I have a query about the operation of the camera and front 'ON' switch.

Ok, the camera is fitted to th TX as standard with rear sensors and I added the front sensors which comes with an 'ON' switch with LED in front of the gearstick to turn the front sensors off - or so I thought?

So this is the way the camera, sensors and switch work in my car and, I would like to know from members who also have this set up, if this is normal.

With the 'ON' SW LED off, I select reverse and both the camera and 'ON' LED turn on; when I have finished reversing with the gears in neutral, both camera and LED remain 'ON' but, if I then press the front 'ON' switch, both the camera and LED go off.

If I leave the 'ON' alone and start driving forward, both the camera and LED turn OFF.

Is that the way that the system should work?

If so, what is the purpose of the 'ON' parking switch which I thought was just for turning off the 'front sensors' only?

Sorry i don't have that in my car, but dealer explained me that the switch is for turning on the front sensor when parking front first, example in front of wall. How else, you can use the front sensors when driving forward.

Hi

Thanks for your input.

I also believe that the parking switch is to be used for turning off the front sensors only but, as stated in my first post, the switch LED comes on with the camera when reverse is selected and when reversing had completed, the parking switch turns off the camera and switch LED.

So, I really need to hear from members who actually have this system installed so that I can confirm if my system is working as expected.

It is working as it should be. The switch is to manually turn them on and off, and reverse kicks them in.

Hi and thanks to all who replied to my thread. :)

Like many other members, I've always believed that the 'parking switch' in front of the gearstick was for turning on/off the front sensors only but, having looked through the user manual again, under parking aids, it quite clearly states that, to turn on the camera, select reverse (and the camera and switch LED comes on) or, press the parking switch and the camera turns on along with the switch LED.

To turn them off, it's just the reverse.

So my system is working as expected - Issue solved!

Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed. :)
