Illuminating Ignition Ring

Ok so I got the ring on fine, wired all up to the dome light but it seems to be working in reverse.

When I open the doors..nothing ! When I lock it up the ring comes on..Please HELP !

how did you wire it? did you connect it with a connector, or did you wire it with a wire straight into something?

Spliced into existing lighting..Tried the loom that came with it but after seconds it was red hot so disconnected it

Wondering if you spliced the wrong wires...

Spliced the dome light connector that has 2 wires (red and black) and connected ring light red and black..The other dome light connector has only 1 wire blue and orange colour..Any ideas ?

One is permanent live the other is ignition live. I wonder if the earth is closing with the door setting the lights off...

Oh ok..I'm not the best with electrics..Any ideas what needs to go where ?

An idiots guide would be much appreciated lol

Lol I don't have wiring diagrams but pull out the map light check the wires and make sure you picked the right wires to tap into.
