Over the last week or so the alarm on my 2010 Ford Focus 1.6tdci keeps randomly going off.. I would be happy if the alarm could be removed but have been informed by ford that is goes through the ecu so can not be removed from the car.. I can't seem to find any problems anywhere.. Has anybody else had the same problem and found a fix for there problem I could try... My neighbours would be pleased lol thanks

over on the FFoc there are some guys in the midlands that have the ELM27 set up, this software runs off a laptop and with the correct cable connects to you car and fault reads amongst other things

Need a code reader that reads bcmii codes , the alarm triggers are stored in the bcmii ,unusual for alarm to play up on your age of car, you sure the tailgate is not unlocking its self. Thats common.

I read somewhere that the bonnet latch maybe to blame. Just an idea

ELMConfig will tell you what triggers the alarm the last 5 times iirc.

You would also be able to deactivate it (at least the siren if not fully) with that software.

So it's been to a ford specialist today and they reckon it's caused by the aftermarket stereo I recently had fitted possible voltage drop.. Anybody know how this could be fixed...?

Sounds like Ford just wanted to blame the one thing that's not theirs...

The stereo does come on and go off with the ignition yes? If so, shouldn't be any problem.

Do you have a multimeter? If so, test the battery voltage when the alarm goes off.

Yea the stereo goes off and on like the stock stereo.. I will check battery the next time it goes off....

My focus will lock with the bonnet/boot open, and not set the alarm off if they're shut/reopened whilst it's still locked. All your door locks/lock brackets are secure and not loose?
