Cd Shuffle Sony Stereo Unit Mk7.5

I'm sure this is an easy one but for the life of me I can't find it in the manual. I had a go this morning of shuffling the tracks on my MP3 cd in the driver, I pressed the shuffle button (2 of 4 on bottom row), to be met by the words 'shuffle off' and a list of some other irrelevant folders. I press left and right to change off to on - nothing, so I try pressing button 2 again, it simply scrolls down the list, so back up I go, and try 'ok' it also scrolls down the list...

So question is - how do I change the shuffle feature to shuffle 'on'?
