Gear Change Cable Adjustment

Hi there.

Does anyone have any experience adjusting gear change cable on 2003 Fiesta?

I have just changed selector shaft oil seal as it was leaking and I noticed the selector cable length seems short.

I have pressed the orange cable insert in until it locks into place but nothing frees up to be adjusted

any ideas please?
