Bonnet Lock And Gear Knob

Hi guys brought a mondeo and need to fit a bonnet lock and a new gear knob as ive never done so before id like to know if anyone else has done this before ive ordered the parts off eBay got the lock and mechanism and the new knob but how easy are they to do any help would be much appreciated

gear knob is easy, you just unscrew the old and screw on the new.

As for the bonnet lock, theres a bit more stripping and rebuilding involved.

Done the knob changed lock shaft fell off lock and couldnt open bonnet so had to smash the front grill to open it couldnt afford to leave it as ive got an oil leak

Oh well now you will be needing a new grill as well,can get pricey fixing things and the bonnet lock is a bit notorious for this sort of thing, it has to be really well greased as its facing the elements head on so to speak.

Yeh so ive seen £87 from ford !Removed! that got a grill for £15 was having bumper sprayed anyway got a few marks just need to see if the new grill is shallow or deep for the lock
