Rear Suspension

Featured Replies

Anybody else get noises from the rear suspension, I would say it was squeaking or creaking it's a strange noise

Do you have any liquid / oil on the rear shocks?

Don't think so I was thinking about putting some grease on them in case they were a bit dry

No they are meant to look dry, if they have oil on the silver bits they are knackered.

being realistic though it's probably a shagged bush, open the door and stand on the sill and bounce up and down, see if it still does it.

Also give the exhaust a good shake, could also just be a mount coming lose or corroded.

I bounced the back of the car a bit with the boot open and it was doing it

Need someone else underneath the car to try and pin point it really. is it coming from an edge or the centre?

I've went under earlier and tried pushing the car down with the boot open on my own and it seemed to be coming from the passenger side corner

jack the rear up to extend the shocks and look for any marks on the silver part of the strut.

Can't see any silver anywhere

From what I can work out its coming from this joint at the rear. If you can make any sense of the picture, there is a rubber inside which I think is where the noise is coming from

The rubber bush in your picture is in need of replacement. Consider Polybushes! Only ever install them once and forget.. they'll last the life of the car and offer handling improvements

Cheers for the help guys appreciate it. I'll get it sorted when my mechanic mate is back from his holiday
