St Springs On The 1.0 ? Or Zetec S Springs For Sale?

Featured Replies

Want to stiffen up the suspension of the Titanium but don't want to lower 30mm. Anyone reckon the ST springs will get me the desired affect?

Τhe rear springs will do the trick. The front ones no because the front end of the st is heavier due to the 1.6 engine being heavier. In result your car will not only hop in the bumps but it will rise a few mm's.

If that was the case, wouldn't the Mountune springs that fit both the ST and ZS also cause the same issue?

A asked this question a few days ago on this forum and got told they don't fit :/

I had a chance to get them too :(

The mountune / eibach springs for the ST are different to the 1.0 as Riordian said the 1.6 engine is heavier.

I'll give the ST springs a pass for now.

Any ZS owners out there with a set of springs?

My dad has the yellow koni and eibach pro fitted on his ttitanium. It is really nice and firm and comfy at the same time. It is nicely lowered. But has trouble passing through some roads because the bottom is getting scratched...

Hope you go what i mean... Cant really explain it in english :P

That's what I'm trying to avoid. Ideally I'd like to lower the titanium 15 / 20mm and the only way I can see that is with coil overs.

Coilovers? A bit expensive for 20mm :/

The ones that Mountune sell are exactly the same for the ST and the 1.0T..

They are listed separately on mountune's site and when I enquired I was told that they are specific to the 1.0 or ST.

PumaSpeed also list 2 separate springs.

I'm confused by the Mountune versions - the pics show the same part number and they are both out of stock at exactly the same time. ???..

Eibach do specify that there is a difference for the front springs (rears are the same). Petrol have one spec, and diesels plus the ST have another.

Yeah I thought the original ST springs would fit but ha ho.

Just need to find a Zetec S owner out there with some springs they don't want.

Eibach redlines are a nice height! post-63599-143084815335_thumb.jpg

Looks great but potholes n speed bumps wouldn't be too fun

  • Author

Not for me mate. They have to be speed bump friendly. Only looking at 15 / 20mm drop to improve handling.

I'll have your old springs though ;)

Yeah it's good fun dodging pot holes haha but surprisingly clears every speed bump! So far anyway haha sticks to the road like !Removed! to a blanket! :D

Sadly old springs aren't available, all going back to standard in a month or so, handing it back and getting something different :)

Allow Eibachs and OEM's, get some Cooksports, best springs about. they do a 20MM drop too.

Have you looked in to breaker's yards that might have a Zetec S? (assuming the suspension wasn't ruined).

I assume Ford want a kidney for them?

Well I've already given one of mine away so I'll be buggered if I need to sell the other ;)
