Hi again – I finally sorted it – as I had done it with scotch clips
I decided to solder all the joints and the fault was still there and as I was
holding the relay I must have moved one of the joints at the terminals and lo
and behold the unit kicked into life – so it was all or nothing at this stage and decided to prise open the
relay and the positive and negative terminals
came away from the circuit board – so I decided just to solder a couple of
wires onto the circuit board and reconnected them and all other wires - and BINGO all sprung into life – so it must
have been a dry solder joint in relay from removal from my last car 6 weeks ago
– so end result is all is now working fine - thanks for your advice -- robert
