Ford Focus Mk3 Key Fob Problems

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Im new around here and just purchased a MK3 Ford Focus Edge. I only purchased the car Saturday and at the minute i'm really happy with the car. Just one problem that's nothing major but its a bit of an annoyance.

I have 2 keys for the car and only one will unlock/lock the doors with the key fob buttons BUT when I program the other key (turning the key in the ignition 4 times) it stops the other key that was originally working. Is this normal for you to only be able to have one key remote lock/unlock the car or is there a way to program both keys.

Thanks in advance

Matt

When you programme the key you also need to press a button on the second key whilst the car is in learning mode or it will de-register.

As above ignition on off 4 times you get a beep press any button on the first remote you get a beep press the second remote button you get a beep then you're done

Thanks very much for the replies. It was puzzling me as my others cars have never done that.

Hi folks,

Does the above work on a 2014 Edge? I've tried and i cant get the car into programming mode.. turning 0 to II four times rapidly in a few seconds, and back to 0, as per the owners manual, and no beep...

If i do 8 times (as some have posted elsewhere) i get a beep. but no beep from the remotes thereafter. (Also the doors dont cycle through the locking..)
