Jonah11
Hi all. Could anyone tell me how to free up the handbrake it's decided to stick on and make a right racket. Thanks.
mintalkin
its a common problem on the mk3 for the handbrake levers at the rear calipers to seize up, you can try cleaning and lubricating the levers but this sometimes does not cure the problem and some people have had to replace the calipers, this may not be the problem but its a good place to start. MONDEO TXS 2.2
Handbrake cables tend to seize eventually on these too ( replace as a pair )

pragmatix
In my experiance it's the near side rear that seizes, had to change that caliper on 2 of my mk3's and done a couple on mates too
