Worst Case Senario Bonnet Wont Open

well my focus mk2.5 1.8 zetec s got new pads and discs last week under my 3 month RAC warranty

couple of days later went to open bonnet and it wont tried all the guides to open ot wont budge key

just turns so its going back to garage tomorrow not sure yet if this is going to be covered under just

curious what you all think my worst case senario will be

Should be the same set up as my Cmax was and my mate managed to unbolt the lock mechanism by reaching up under the car with a small ratchet.

cost be about 80quid to get it fixed by ford, they replaced the lock cylinder. so expect that much as the maximum if its not covered by warranty.

Worst case is your key is worn and that has damaged your lock.

New grill

New lock assembly

New key.

Best case is worn key.

New blade

Dont forget the simple option of the connecting rod could have come away.

Garage going to do whatever needed on Wednesday to open then repair all under warranty so not to bad in the end hopefully

dont think its the key tried the spare keys aswell

well now fixed the small white plastic part had snapped that was replaced but soon as any pressure

was put on nothing worked turned out the wire inside rubber had snapped all replaced under warranty

thanks for help everyone

quick question just something ive been wondering if a spring or shock was to need replaced on a zetec s is it same parts as

other focus models

The ride height is a bit lower on the Zetec S as far as im aware so would suggest the springs to be different spec. Someone else will be able to give a definitive answer on that for you.
