Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 Eac Fail

Hi,

I am wondering if there is anyone on here that can help solve the intermitting fault with my Fiesta Zetec 1.4.

Every couple of weeks my engine managment light comes on and EAC FAIL shows on the dashboard and the car rapidly looses power. If i leave the car for a few hours the fault seems to go away and then come back.

I was advised from a mechanic to change the throttal peddal, clean out the butterfly in the throttle body to which i did and this has not solved the problem.

I have read a lot of information on this fault but no one ever seems to post the resolution to the problem.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks in advance.

Phil

Clean the throttle body as it will be 'gummed' up.... Just seen you said you've done that, what exactly did you do when cleaning it?

I took it to a local garage who used a special spray as they were pressing the accelerator, also used a light brush to get rid of anything that could cause it to block.

It seemed fine for a week or so and then it has happend again.

Thanks

Phil
