Why Do You Like Fiestas?

Ok so, might sound like an obvious question, but I think replies could be interesting. I mean these cars are common and I think I could say atleast 1 in every 5 cars I see on the road is a fiesta. . . So what attracted you to buy one?

They stick to the road. Ecoboost engine is phenomenal. Decent Stereo set up and good looks.

Stereo? O c'mon.

Common as muck, but, ecoboost + chassis, however, just wait until something goes wrong, like a flat battery.

Far too smartarse.

I'll wager that they'll get 100's of probs with powerfolds, door sensors, actually, ANY sensors.

Who'll have to pay? WE will.

So far (touch wood) mines been terrific, oh, except for steering wheel buttons, there's the start of it.

Too clever by half.

Auto wipers? Pfffft, Auto lights? Pffffft, hill start assist? pfffffft, stop/start? Pffffft.

But the 1.0 125 is amazing ;)

Oh, virtually zero engine braking - worn out pads in no time.

I still love it :D

Haha, I have to agree, although nice touches, parking sensors, auto lights/wipers, hill start assist etc aren't really for me. I think they're probably aimed at women (sexist comment  )

Being more specific I mean stereo set-up as in the layout of buttons. I used to drive a Corsa though... The car has a solid feel. It's a small car though but I like that.

I wish I had the Sony Dab radio in mine, is it much better than the standard phone layout HU?

Why say they are common as muck? You bought one, so added to the number on the road.

They are popular cars, the fiesta has been a best seller since it was launched in the 70s. People buy them because they are fairly cheap, reliable, comfortable, handle well, large dealer network, looks, familiarity etc.

If your battery goes flat, open the door with the key, and jump start as normal ( bit like with old cars, which were not as reliable as today's)

You can turn off all those features which you don't like, you know that right?

Well said Mark!

The sound in my titanium is good ma mate got a vxr corsa and had a Audi and when he went in my car said the sound was a lot better and even better with some sound deadening

But the main reason I like it is the smooth gears and the Massive smile that puts on my face!

Even my last fiesta mk6.5 zetec blue with a 1.25 engine was great! And sound in that was good too as it had same stereo in the focus and mondeos

Plus the amount of customisation we can do to our cars is great too!

In all honesty the look of the car and the value for money attracted me to the car, I never drove the vehicle before purchasing but was and still am very happy with my purchase, my only let down with the vehicle is the service from Ford.

I basically chose between the Fiesta and the VW Polo, and in SA every second car is a Polo, both my sisters had them and they are good cars, but over priced compared to the Fiesta and without a service plan wasn't my first choice.

Mark, i've nothing against them being as common as muck, it's just a fact. Prolly a plus point, loads of scrap yard spares ;)

Re: flat battery, I'm pretty sure the key won't open it, it appears to only operate contacts.

I'll let you know when it happens :D

I like the fiesta for a few reasons

1 Once Fords were way behind zee Germans in build quality this isn't the case now they are really up there with Audi BMW and VW.

2 You get a lot of options for nothing with Ford they really spoil you rotten. For example my previous 27k BMW 1 series had a rubbish stereo and it didn't even come with tweeters as it was an option !

3 I love the 3 cylinder engine it's a bag of fun at 6.5k and mine churns out 125 bhp which is very impressive for less than 1 litre.

4 The front grill looks cool.

the one I had was a 2007 st 42k new spring. door lock and exhaust all in 4 months doors you would bend in when cleaning so did not rate it , changed it for a focus st 100 % better

Got rid of my second Clio in favour of the Fiesta, which is my fourth Ford car...the others being a Ford Escort, two Ford Cortinas (1.6L and a 2.0 Ghia) and a 1.8 Sierra Sapphire. The first Clio was a 1.4 Si, bought in 2000 and had Aircon, CD player, ABS etc. and was a really fun drive. The second Clio was a 1.2 TCE...bland, uninspiring, crap radio/stereo and, as usual with it being French, things began to fail all at once.

Only had my Fiesta a week, it has done 204 miles, so I cannot comment on its longevity. But what I do know is, it looks the business, drives like a dream, the Sony stereo is loud, crisp and punchy, the bluetooth is a good toy, the climate control is a godsend for my wife's menopausal hot-sweats, the power-fold mirrors are nifty and remind me that my car is locked, the connectivity means I can listen to my own play lists instead of the banal radio stations, the parking sensors are also a godsend for my wife, I like the tinted windows, I have 10-spoke alloys on it, which should be on a Mondeo (I think), the cruise control should be fun to use and I love the Frozen White colour, which makes it look good on the road.

A passer-by actually said to me "That's a lovely car, mate".

i was walking back to my car in the night and i saw it sitting there - 15 inch wheels, 3 doors, white. no body kit. i looked at it and i just thought "yep. you're just perfect. i don't ever want to change you"

it's got everything i could possibly need in a car. bluetooth, a working engine that can go up hills, brakes that work... (my last car never gave me good expectations)

If I could afford it, I'd prefer a Golf GTI, but I think Fiesta's a good compromise in terms of performance/price and general maintenance. . . I'm enjoying mine again now I've learnt to use the right fuel. lol

I learnt to drive in a MK6 Fiesta and instantly loved it. Then, having owned a KA for a couple of years in order to build up some cheaper insurance, I saw the perfect car for me. Great price, mint condition, looks absolutely spot on and a sufficient amount of power for the driving that I do! That said, in hindsight, the 1.0 125ps cars seem like beasts when you consider the remapping abilities for a few hundred quid...

So, looks, features, price, reliability (some will question that, no doubt!) and just a liking for Fords in general, probably because they are the most common car in our family history!

I suppose I like the way other drivers look at my car - at least the ones whose heads are not down sending or reading text

I am a late first car buyer so it was a few things really, they are fun and easy to drive, good value for money and look great. If like me you live in a city the handling makes them easy for all those difficult traffic moments. Fuel economy is however over rated, that said I am reasonably happy with it.

Although I don't like in the UK, Ford also offer great discounts here too ( at certain times of the year) hence the price made it a no brainer to choose anything else.

Im on my 3rd Fiesta in a row now a nice ST3. Ive had it just over a month and have to say I love them. My first was a 2011 Titanium with the Zetec S dress up kit so got the looks and the toys which was a brilliant car. Unfortunatly hitting a German Shepard on the Motorway at 70 finished that one off as it flung me into the barrier. I then moved on to a 2013 Zetec S with the 1.0 125 engine which was a million times better than I was expecting it to be. Economical and powerful all in one nice package. I then thought what the heck and swapped it for an ST3 and hands down the best car I have ever driven. I say that with high praises as I've driven a few nice supercars over the last few years and on the road they are no match for this little pocket rocket.

Value for money is exceptional with all the toys of the more expensive rivals and 10x more smiles behind the wheel.

I would love an ST3, If I win the lotto tonight, I'll pick one up.

It is an incredible car its just so much fun and when you take it down a notch it still does 46mpg its currently at 46.1mpg as I've been stuck behind some slow drivers with no way past but I cannot grumble at that for a sporty car :)
