Looking at changing the stock 205/40/17r tyres for either:

215/40/17r or 205/45/17r

The cars been lowered via Eibach pro springs and 15mm hubcentric spacers all round, and has stock ST alloys.

Will the 215's fit without rubbing?

The 205/40/17 are the correct spec for the alloys so just stick with them. I can't see that there would be a noticeable benefit by changing for 215 or 45.

Thanks guys, just find the stock 40 sidewalls a little unforgiving on potholes as the roads by me are shocking.

Was also hoping that adding 215 will give the alloys a bit of protection.

No offence to other female drivers, but my other half parks well close to the curb (already finding daily battle scars).

There's always alloygators or rim blades :)

I don't think the 215 will help with the comfort level of the car, but the 45 ply should help a bit, I am in the same predicament, want to change my 45/16 to 50/16's as the facelift Titanium models comes standard with 50 ply were as mine came with 45

Just worried 45 sidewall may rub.
