Nick Y
I'm 34 and had my licence for 15 and a half years with no accidents, claims or points in that time (on a personal vehicle). Previous car renewal quotes with 2 years NCD were £600+ for a 2003 Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 LS. Quotes for my 2016 (17 plate) ST-Line 140 range from the cheapest at £500 from Esure fully comp (8k miles SDP) with the added extras like key cover, courtesy car, personal accident, legal protection and breakdown (full home service, non-European) to over £1000 and that's with 2 years NCD. Surprisingly Adrian Flux quoted me £950 for an unmodified car without any of the extras (breakdown etc) with a £350 excess. This was even more expensive than Ford Insure quoted me (£750). Needless to say I will be going with either Esure or QuoteMeHappy once my 7 day cover insurance ends as they were the 2 cheapest with extras on top and they were only a few quid apart. Only downside is that unlike Hastings Premier (my previous insurer), I can't protect my 2 years NCD.
Dal.
Some scary premiums on this thread - don't know how some of you do it! 40 something.. driving since 1988 with no accidents. 2 separate policies with their own NCB: 2016 Fiesta 1.0T (125) Zetec S - Protected 10 year NCB, 20k miles a year, SDP+C parked on driveway overnight with Tesco = £290 (£100 excess) 2016 Focus RS - Protected 15+ year NCB 10k miles a year SDP+C in locked garage overnight =£329 (£100 excess) Age does have it's advantages sometimes - I've never paid more than £400 a year for car insurance even with 7 series BMW, E46 M3s, nearly new Asbo, etc etc 😀
DR4G4L
My previous car was a 2008 1.6 Passat in Dublin with 7 years NCB from AA for a cool €890 (full cover, courtesy car, legal expenses, protection, no points, no accidents). Brand new insurance (NCB not calculated in atm) for a 2005 Mondeo 1.8 (110) in Amsterdam area - €40/ month (same level as above). It would've been an extra €5/month for a 2.5L one. Once I've got the new hard copies, they said it will be around €28-30/ month.
Philipgod96
My 09 1.4L Fiesta was £430 but I've just changed to a 125PS Mk7.5 and its now £150 more a year (comprehensive £500 excess) 3 years NCB, age
nitten_traveller
38 yo Focus 1.0 zetec ecoboost (63 plate) fully comp with most bells and whistles except breakdown cover, 9 years ncd £192 with quotemehappy (though obtained through confused.com) renewal with Hastings was more like £350 so I removed two very infrequent older drivers

STJAY
26 2017 Fiesta ST 3 years no claims £400 ish. How can my insurance be cheaper than some people in their 30s - 50s on this site with a lesser car? Especially me being from Northern Ireland

Safer area? Fewer thefts? There's loads that can affect it, but I definitely wish I could pay that little for a '17 ST! 😃
