I'm waiting to hard wire a dash cam. I need to determain which fuse to use so that the camera turns on when the ignition turns on. How would I determain this? I have used a multimeter and they all pretty much read 0 volts when the ignition is on or off. Yet none of them are blown.

How are you using the meter? with one probe to earth and the other in the fuse box?

I had a blonde moment. I was probing both com and V on each exposed pin on the back of the fuse... Totally forgoing that the black com needed to be on the ground point of the car.

When I realised the exact words where.. 'Ahh i'm such a tit' went back and found what was needed lol

I spent half an hour trying to figure out why it wasn't working, when realised I then spent 30 seconds getting the fuse I needed.

Hurr Hurr.

The rear wiper fuse is what mine is on and it works fine, with the added advantage that it's not the end of the world if the rear wiper stops working lol.
