Lel
Hi its been 3 weeks now since my accident, can't believe the body shop is unable to get hold of the bonnet hinge and air deflector. I don't seem to be able to find out why there is such a problem on obtaining these parts. Am really missing my car now.

I don't seem to be able to find out why there is such a problem on obtaining these parts. Am really missing my car now. From what i have seen Lel on here about squashed MK7's ,What about getting a bonnet hinge/air box from a damaged MK7.its only going to be a few months older that yours and ask them to pay for the bits at least you will get your car back quicker, and who would know the difference

Thanks for the suggestion.
Lel
Apparently the parts are now available and may be getting the car back on Monday, am so looking forward to it but a bit nervous about driving it again, have got used to the little ka that they lent us after the 2 week insurance replacement car (Corsa) ran out. Hope they have done a good job.
amyjaj
That's good to hear. You will be nervous. I was for a day or two when I got it back. I was really nervous again yesterday and today especially reversing out of parking spaces. after hitting the back end when turning around in a car park, the other night. That's a long time Lel to be without a car just because of a friggin' bonnet hinge! Infact - that's incredibly poor come to think of it. Here's hoping they make a very generous 'token' for all your patience! ;)

Nightowl: don't think there will be any token for waiting, am pleased tho that insurance has covered it all, I have no excess!! will be so pleased to get it back, just wondering tho if there will be another hold-up before Monday. Will let you know.

studly
Aye have a good shufty around the car and don't be afraid to point out anything your not happy with. One area you definately need to check is all the bonnet edges to make sure there is paint coverage, mine had to go back in for them to respray the edges.
