Drove to a friends house, about 1 hour,as soon as I started the return journey I developed a knocking on the front or so it seems,I can feel it through the steering

All new shockers and ball joints on the front

Any ideas please, just jacked it up on the front can't find anything

Road speed or engine speed or only over bumps?

Stupid thought, but are all the wheel nuts tight? You'd be surprised how often that is dismissed due to it being a silly suggestion.

Hi yes had both wheels off,to look for any problems

Seems to be worse on bumpy roads

To check cv joint ,I will try running in a circle ,should be able to hear it cracking ,if it is the cv joint is it easier to change the whole shaft

Good shout I reckon, I had similar symptoms on my Fiesta mk7, turned out to be top mount. Springs been done twice this year alone so it just wasn't put back properly.
