Wondering if anyone has put 19's on there focus and if there where any problems as to wheels rubbing in arches or turning problems. not sure what the offset of them are though.

Anything over 7.5" wide on a lowered focus needs the steering rack limiter kit from Ford fitted

the kit comes with institutions fits a number of models and costs between 25-30 GBP

basically a polyurethane Bush ring that fits inside of the CV boot preventing the inner sidewall from rubbing on full turning lock.

EBay brand "ST alloys" are generally 18x7.5 and don't have the centre spine in the spokes also don't require Ford steering limiter kit when lowered.

Ford brand ST alloys are 18x8 and have centre spine in spokes and require rack limiter kit when lowered.

800GBP in price difference between purchasing Ford brand and eBay brand.

On a side note;

Doesn't the 1.6TDCi suffer from enough unsprung mass rolling 18's without adding an extra 4" overall road contact and even more weight ?

they are genuine 18" st alloys lenny. 225/40/18 tyres. i had 225/45/18 on the front and they rubbed on the inner arch against the engine bay. so got 225/40/18 tyres.

I've 225/35 on mine with the rack limiter kit not had any problems,

Turning improved after having laser tracking alignment done.

i had 235/35/19's on my car before and didnt suffer any issues. I've currently got 245/40/18's on and still no issues and no rack limiter fitted either!

pic from when they were installed and most focus lowering springs have that high backside effect unfortunately unless you get the redline special split springs from pumaspeed
