Hi, can anyone tell me where I plug in the wire to the gear knob, I have taken off both sides of the centre console but can't locate it. I have a mk3 focus titanium

Thanks

There is no connector for the illuminated gear knob.

The illuminated gear knob should come with a wiring harness and an installation manual how to connect it.

On the mk2 you use the spare orange wire from the 12v socket

I've got the wire coming from the gear knob, but I can't find where to plug it into, there is meant to be a harness behind the centre console but can't seem to find it, or maybe my car doesn't have one.

Live wire to the orange wire taped to the power socket loom and earth to any body mounted bolt/screw.

The knob will illuminate with sidelights and main lights on.

In the original Ford illuminated knob kit there is a length of splice wire with a plug on one end and 3 bare wires on the other end (black/red/green).

Whether you attach red or green to the live feed decides the illumination colour.

The knob wiring plugs into the connector on the end of the splice wire.

I don't have any loose wires, they are connected to a plug

Cut the plug off, then you'll have loose wires ;)

I finally found the connector, it was taped to another set of wires behind the centre console on the passanger side. Thanks for all your help guys.

Out of curiosity, how much did the gear knob set you back?

£85 from ford parts uk, a bit on the expensive side but it does look good.

Can't disagree with you there. It's a mod I'm getting around to doing.
