hodgo64
hi, does anyone have any experience of the stereo buttons on the mark 4 ( or 3.5) focus not illuminating? it seems to be an intermittent fault on my car and its not happened when I took it back to the dealer, or when I tried to video it? iantt
im sure ive heard about this before somewhere, does it coincide with putting a cd in?
hodgo64
hi, funny you should ask about cd's, the only way to make the buttons illuminate when the fault happens is to press the ''eject'' button, whereupon the stereo buttons, hazard warning button and the stereo power button all light up!! iantt
thought it was something to do with cd operation, contact your dealer and they should be able to sort it out for you, they should know about this issue.
hodgo64
hi, no, it just happens on start-up, no matter if there's a cd in or not. took it to dealer and all worked normally - typical lol. to be honest I can live with it, but as its my first brand new car, i'd prefer it to work properly, and i'm concerned that it may be the onset of other electrical issues. thanks for the suggestion though, cheers. iantt
Will see if I can find out anything about your concern, there must be a fix for it.
hodgo64
ok mate, thanks.i thought it might be a software issue but dealer said no? cars, nowt but trouble, lol!!
JW1982
This is a known problem of the Focus MK3.5. Many peaople experienced this problem. Some time ago Ford communicated to customers that they were working on a fix (probably a software update) for this problem. However I do not know if this fix is already released or not.
