Keyless Entry not working

Hi,

I have just received my new Ford Fiesta but I am having problems with the keyless entry system. The problem is that the car doesn't unlock using the button on the drivers side. It works fine on the passenger side. I have tried resetting the remote in accordance with the manual but it still doesn't work. I am at a loss as to what the problem could be.

Has anyone got any tips on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Is it still in warranty?

Should be able to take it back to a Ford dealer and have them fix it.

Yes it's got it full warranty. I am just wondering how it got through the PDI with that fault or whether it has developed since then,

Would disconnecting the battery for a while possibly reset the system and clear the problem or is it more likely to be a component issue that the only the dealer can repair.

Sounds like the drivers side "button" is screwed. Best chance is to take it to a dealer, especially if it is under warranty.

The passenger button on mine has never done anything AFAIK.

I have also found that the drivers side door wont lock or unlock when using the key blade. The key turns about 45 degrees and then stops and there is no sort of sound that would indicate the lock engaging or disengaging.  Am I missing something here as it seems strange that the door locks and unlocks fine with remote locking but manual locking and unlocking doesn't work.

I have the same problem with my Kuga vignale. It’s booked in in January. But really bugs me as it must be something silly.

Mine was delivered with a Snail stuck to the top of the battery and brown paper wrapped around a lot of the cables and pipes in the engine compartment (lucky it didn't catch fire). They obviously spent all of 1 second opening and closing the bonnet on that check. 😏

Also had the tyre pressures at about 38 front and 46 psi rear. How the feck did the delivery driver not notice it, must've been all over the road on those pressures.
