Hello, i am currently trying to buy a fiesta and i want to know more about the esp. i read online that cars built after april 2010 have esp as standard. Today i went to check a 2011 fiesta but there was no switch for the esp. Do all the cars have esp? Not having a switch off button mean that there is no esp?

I know some cars like pre facelift Ibiza has esp but there is no switch.

ESP comes as standard in all MK7 Fiestas!

Only thing is, you can't automatically turn it off in every model, because all "non-sport" (Zetec S, ST) won't have a switch to do so.

In the menu of the radio you can only turn off traction control.

ESP is always on, but also always there! ;)

I am looking for a pre facelift one. I found online that all fiestas produced after april 2010 have esp - so i will be buying a 2011 one i think 1.4 automatic titanium! Thank you!

You could even buy a '09 base "Studio" model and get ESP with it.

But a '11 Titanium seems like a better choice.

Have fun with it! :)

Is there any chance to know you have it ? Like when you turn the ignition, does an esp icon appear on the speedometer area?

I am not planning to add the switch but i just want to make sure the car that i will be buying has esp.

Thank you!

It should have a car icon with lines behind it lights up first then goes off, showing you a car sliding.

Its a pain in the ice or snow as it tries to correct itself all the while.

This is not the case.

My previous car was an 09 plate MK 7 Titanium and it did not have ESP.

ESP became standard sometime after 2009.

Edit - Just checked online. ESP became standard on cars built after 26th April 2010.

That's really odd. All german models did have ESP from September 2008 on. Wether it was a base "studio" (or Ambiente in Germany) or a Zetec or Titanium model.

I've taken a look in a old german pricelist from September 2008 for the MY2009.

It wonders me though, that the UK models didn't have ESP as standard??
