Hi,

im not the best with cars and wondered is someone could help me before I take mine to a garage.

Ive got a fiesta titanium 63 plate and every time I go over steep bumps around 10-15mph I hear a scratching noise and it louder if I go over them a little faster.

Can anyone help please.

Many thanks in advance.

It could be the plastic baffles under the car?

Should I take it to be looked at?

No need I reckon.

Plastic bits are always scratching bumps, engine undertrays are the common one.

May I suggest going over bumps slower or allow one wheel to go over the bumps, obviously either the bumps are too high or your car is too low.

Have you had it lowered from standard?

It only happens in the more square bumps than the more rounded ones if that makes sense

If you're able to, park it half on a high kerb and have a look under the front, you might find one corner of the plastic undertray is hanging down.  I see loads of cars with them hanging off and wonder how the drivers don't notice lol!

I there's nothing hanging down then just ignore it, won't be doing any harm, undertrays are always scuffed and scraped.

My 15 plate does it mate, especially in the cold weather!

Just the way cars are I'm afraid

I jacked it up and there's nothing hanging off but I did see lots of scratches on the plastic bit so guessing that's what's making the noise.

Squeak and grating noise over speed bumps in winter. I'd put my house on it being Anti roll bar bushes.

Is it a scratching noise or creaking? It could be the bushes.
