Mk2 open door warning question

My Focus is a bit confused. It seems as though my rear doors are wired up wrong as when one is opened the car seems to think that the other one is open instead.

Does anyone know if it would be relatively easy to fix this or would it be too much of a pain for such a minor "issue"?

that would suggest a short circuit somewhere to me, and that may not be an easy fix

check your fuseboard/s, if like my mondeo you have a boot fusebox, see if you have central locking (per door) fuses.

If you do, pull out the one corresponding to the appropriate door, and see if this works correctly or back to front.

It is slightly possible, that beyond a short circuit, someone has fitted door modules the wrong way around, and so the data being fed back is in fact the resistance for the other door, thus showing the wrong door is open

That would suggest a short circuit or water ingress. I suspect it may be worth checking if there are any signs of a perished windshield seal or other locations water may be seeping in. Check the grommet on the firewall also
