Mitchell Rogers
Has anyone seen or heard of anyone actually having this done. As I know the 1.0 litre is already tuned and being mapped may put too much pressure on the engine? Would like to see your opinions.
Shelby - Fiesta Zetec S
i was thinking this myself, surely the engine has been boosted to its max to recieve the 140 , i think it would need an uprated clutch and brakes to deal with more power personally. aaronwzs
Alot better you can really feel the power and as for warranty not sure but definitely worth the money Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
alexp999
Nothing you can do to the 140 will be warranty friendly so it's all at your own risk.
karl46
Superchips, Bluefin do an ecu remap which is removable if you want to do so and reload again. Presently they are offering this with the VAT paid. so around £332. Demon Tweeks are also adding a K & N free flow filter worth £41 , making this remap about £290. As "ARRONWRS " says, you can definately feel the extra horses and torque. I was suprised. Superchips say that the MPG is not increased and they will cover any warranty issues with any issues with the egine caused by thie remap. If you are thinking of a remap and have £300 you have nothing to lose. try it and see and be suprised.. There are plenty of posters on here who have taken this route. Havent seen any adverse comments yet. http://www.superchips.co.uk/
dfriel2
I've driven a Bluefin 1.0 ecoboost and the performance is pretty impressive, the diiference in second gear is a shock. However, i wouldn't want to be dumping the clutch too often... Have also driven on track with my standard Red Edition and haven't yet run out of brakes. On the road with a remapped car, I doubt you'd have an issue.

I thought you'd have to have all internals changed for that horsepower. All pipes. Intake, filter, radiator etc. maybe even have a bigger turbo? The hybrid turbo, intercooler, exhaust etc are all done in the lower stages, so yes, they'll also be done for the stage 3+ There's tonnes of work involved, I simply mentioned it was possible so people knew :) www.yorkshiredetailing.co.uk - approved resellers of the Highest quality detailing & Valeting supplies
Adouk88
I have the fiesta black edition 140ps and have had it remapped, a gained 26bhp and only have a induction kit fitted
Maltozo
I would be very wary! Why? Any official Ford warranty out the window to start with. The Zetec Red/Black 140PS also has restricted boost/torque in 1st/2nd to protect its poorly rated IB5 gearbox. (It also has an uprated head gasket in comparison to the 125PS). If like myself you have recently driven a Zetec 140PS and an ST back-to-back a few times and experienced the differences first-hand you will immediately notice in addition to the ST's tiresome, wearing low(er) speed ride and similarly poor motorway characteristics its far superior stopping power too. The Zetec 140PS still retains drums on the rear! They are adequate, no question about it 'less I certainly wouldn't have bought one but the difference is surprisingly stark and obvious, and that's just 'one-up'! Imagine a Zetec with 165PS, full tank of fuel, two-up, 'weekend away' luggage etc.... Just buy an ST, they really are that good if you can put up with its various (few) shortcomings, fiscal and otherwise, whilst also convincing yourself that you are in the very finest of rude health, that you are still young(ish), supple and as fit as Chris Froome whilst thinking its all really, really worth it anyway, which indeed it absolutely definitely will be! Problem solved, and you still have a full/remainder of an official warranty too!
Dizzy G
Sorry to jump in on this thread but I really need advice on the same sort of thing. I've got a fiesta mk6 tdci zetec s, and was I'm hoping to remap it in the next couple of weeks. My questions are What are the best? Does it need to go on a rolling road if so is there any decent places in Yorkshire? How long does it take? Any info to my question would be greatly appreciated thanks

BenK
Hi guys. I was hoping someone had asked this question. I collect my black/red Zetec on Monday and have been trawling sites to work out whether it can be remapped/tuned to squeeze abit more power out of that mighty 1.0 engine. My dealership (TC Harrison's) offer a mountune upgrade for that car that does not impact my Ford warranty. Best part of £1800 boosting the bhp to 165 from 140. This is alot of hardware modifications as well as a remap. Has anyone gone down this routeor or driven a mountune 140 black at all? Would be interested on your thoughts. I know the cost is high and were into ST money but insurers want £5000 off my for an ST even if I fitted this kit I'm at £1000 all in. alexp999
The mountune MR165 WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. Hence the R for racing. I think your dealer needs to re-check their facts. Only the MP135 is warranty friendly and that does not apply to the 140. Ford only approve the P (performance) upgrades.
