focus mk2 tdci cuts out

my ford focus has developed a strange fault that it stalled once and would not let me start it and had to get recovered on a a road with help from traffic police . the car dash just lights up like a christmas tree and stalls the garage I took it to reset the immobiliser to the key and it started. Today again it  would not start then did but all lights on dash were on it was running but I was not able to rev the car at all. turned it of started again all lights on dash then they started to go of one by one except the red cog light . managed to drive to garage turned it of tried it again it was fine no lights on at all. garage says the fault read immobiliser and re set it . I am sure its more than that and lost faith in the car its so unsafe first time it happened was doing 70mph on the road.

check your earth leads are all nice and tight. any earthing issues can cause mayhem.
