wjay
New to the forum so forgive me if this has answers already (I have searched) .My last car was a Focus estate petrol 1.8 15 years old with low mileage that had a starting problem . once or twice a week the engine would not start , starter turned over but no ignition . This was resolved by using the flooded engine procedure but on one occasion left me stranded , no start had to use breakdown . Garage said the only thing they found was the fuel pump had no fuel in it so that was replaced . All was ok for 3 weeks then the the same problem started again . Eventually got rid and bought a 2011 petrol Zetec with only 15k on the clock , really pleased with it but after a few weeks car would not start , same symptoms as the old car , used the flooded engine routine and ok , this now happens once a week quite at random . My question I would like ask is , is this a known ford problem with a resolution or a sympton of an underlying problem that needs investigating . Any info would by appreciated as this has just taken the edge off a really good buy .
