Engine error messages

Hi everybody I've got an 07 plate ST3 that has popped up a message saying "engine system failure" this then went off when the car was tuned off then on again and everything seems to be running fine. I was wondering if anybody else has had a similar error message? Thanks in advance for any help.

There are many things that can cause that problem it really needs to go diagnostics to see what error codes there are. Could be a cluster fault as well. Without diagnostics we are really just guessing.

dad cluster fault causes this as does a can bus error usually the only code you get is high speed can bus error which rarely helps but it will dissapear till so many ignition cycles have passed then come on again
