Exhaust mounting rubbers keep breaking

Hi, does anyone know where I can get decent exhaust mounting rubbers for my Mk1 Focus 1.6? I have replaced them about 6 times in 3 years due to them continually perishing and falling to bits. Tried various suppliers, including Ford who wanted to charge £6 each, and said they would need to order them in from the other place I've used which only charged me £2 each. Replaced the whole set 4 months ago and now thaey all need doing again due to perishing. Is it just rubbish rubber these days?

You seem to be having problems that most people don't have. I 'd guess that there is something different about your situation or car but you don't give much to go on.

Rubbers shouldn't keep breaking replace them with the ones you got and use metal cable ties as well

Maybe you could try polyurethane exhaust hangers.

I must say it us unusual to be honest, never had an exhaust hanger break on any car I have ever owned. It can't be the hangers just breaking surely something must be causing them to fail but what I have no idea off hand. I know eventually they will perish and break but usually they take a long time to do so.

Stumped for ideas.

Is it a standard exhaust system and is the car lowered at all?

Could the exhaust be catching on a speed bump or something and causing the hangers to break?

Is the engine twisting due to worn mounting and pulling on the exhaust.
