got the rears to do at some point, but they stay relatively clean as no discs so no major rush

I've sealed my front alloys with C5 too. Two months in and it is still holding up excellently. A quick rinse of water brings them

back to clean, handy because the gloss black finish looks dirty almost immediately. Any plans to use a sealant on the paint? I initially had my car sealed with CQUK but felt it did nothing for the paint work. Made it look a bit flat truth be told. For the summer I have it covered in Dodo Juice Orange Crush and the depth is great. Your paint seems to have serious flake pop, looks ace.

That key cover is nice, may I ask where you picked that up?

Key cover was just an eBay job

Good to know the sealant works well. As for the paintwork. I've considered. But want it correcting before I touch it

And thanks. The paint really does stand out

Looking fab now with all the hard work you've put in. Candy blue is such great colour isn't it? I've recently got a Tit X in the same colour and people are always commenting on it. The wheels are a right pain to clean though, muck show up so much more than on my previous mark 6 wheels.

Do do you have a link to the seller for the key fob covers? I've had a look on eBay but I've not managed to find them. Oh and thanks for tip of the tiny usb stick, was getting fed up of plugging in and unplugging the iPod every journey. The upside down logo is annoying though!

I think it was showing sold out on the blue. But here you go

The colour is great. Really glad I found this one

The wheels do seem to dirty up quick. May be the brakes?

And I'll have a better look into switching the USB round some point

Looking good now the wheels and the arches! It's amazing how much dirt the alloys pick up especially the front ones. Because of the breaks like you say, also I think its because they are the driving wheels as well. Washed my car last Tuesday and then again and then again today after a 140mile round trip and the alloys where Filthy! Went and hot my alloy wheel scrubbing brush stuck between the alloy and the brake disk which was very clever of me...

Also turns out I was wrong when I said its upside down to stop the contacts getting dirty... forgot which way around was actually right for usb

Any tips on getting the remains of dead bugs off paintwork? JEt washed them off today then scrubbed quite a bit with the sponge but still left some light marks behind :(

Bug and tar remover. Avoid Halfords cheap stuff though a pain to remove. Go for a watery one.

I took the usb connector out and found it can't be rotated. The plastic is moulded to match the contour of the center console so sticks out when upside down. The USB connector also can't be rotated so that's the way it's meant to be.

Can you not just unclip the USB connector from the plastic and rotate just the USB connector like in the Mk7?

Could use Tyre and trim dressing? for the finger marks been using that on the white marks left over on my fog surrounds after my collision. Only covers it up though, comes off when you wash it

I use CarPro Perl on that area of the door and if anything it repels finger prints.

Clean finger prints with All purpose cleaner then use a high quality trim dressing that also provides protection such as Autoglanze Trim Reaper.

Also, when are the indicator bulbs going silver? ;)

Car looks great mate

Cheers gents. I've just ordered some ocd clean stickers :-)

I have been thinking of detangoing but not that interested in doing the rest. Gunna finish the clean then I'll spend some dough on the indicators
