So im trying to sell my partners MK1 focus LX but it currently has no MOT thanks to the gauge cluster only working intermittently and thats the whole cluster ,

now the mechanic I use id an ex ford mech and he said its a common fault and just needs another cluster but I remember him saying something about it needing coding if its not a new one or off the same model does anyone know anything about this and if so is it something I can do or does it require equipment.

I would ask the chap again but he is off for 3 weeks now getting married and honeymooning .

any advice would be appreciated

it will require coding to the immobiliser then keys to the cluster which requires the right software
