Key replacement for different "style"

My car key was dropped number of times and unlock switch desolder from PCB so sometimes it doesn't work. I am thinking of replacing my key for new one. I found on eBay this and I'm wondering if it works and is safe to do ??

Yes it should be possible to use, pairing the remote function is easy as long as you have a working key but the transponder needs coding to the car using Ford IDS or ELM327 with Forscan. Alternatively if replacing a knackerd key for can swap the transponder out of your old key into the new one if it fits and need to only program the remote function.

It is not supposed to be possible to program the PATS system to accept new keys without, as Simon (above) says, using IDS or Forscan. Have they done something clever, and made it replicate a working PATS transponder, or is it an error?

In Mk1 Focus, there was an in-car sequence to use if you had 2 keys, but this is not known to work with the Mk2 (on) Focus.

If it is an error, you should get your money back as it is SNAD (significantly not as described).

As always someone read something on the internet and assumes it is correct, or uses it as a ploy to get people to buy the item thinking they can do it themselves.

Or a seller that knows some stuff but can't be bothered to check it is relevant for all years/models.
