Rubbish Xenonn lights?

Car is a 2013 Focus TDCI Titanium X with factory Xenons... but they are pretty rubbish.

Can anyone tell me what bulbs are in there and what upgrades can/could be made to the factory Xenons?

Our other car has factory Xenons and it is quite literally Night and Day between the two?

Thanks in advance!

has someone replaced your bulbs with 6000k by any chance? do they look really white perhaps with a blue tinge, OEM xenons should look whiteish with a yellow/white beam around 4500k, white lights are really crap for seeing stuff, they look good but are poor performers,

I'd love to know how these compare with the MK3.5 xenons. I love mine, and would certainly not go back to hallogens as they are poo for brightness in comparason. But I too do wonder if there are brighter bulbs too because the BMWs/Mercs output tends to be a little brighter.

  • 2 weeks later...

They look great in the day, or just when you look at them, a nice bright white... but on the road, when other cars with xenons drive past they light MY way lol

I was just wondering what bulb types are in there, are they DS1 etc...

Thanks for the replies!

They are D3S type, if that helps. I would also advise you to have the headlights properly set up, as mine were pretty poor. Had them aligned during a service and since they've been so much better.
