Looks fantastic man. You're quite the resourceful guy, lol.
Have you lowered the car at all? More low would make the world of difference.

Thank you so much :) Haha I'm pretty good at finding things to be honest just seem to have a knack for it. I haven't lowered it as of yet, however.. SPOILER. Things are on order, just stuck up in easter traffic :) I do agree, the arch gap on the rear from standard is just an eye sore. Hopefully very soon it will be sitting lovely

Hi Yunii,

Yes moved into the focus world quite a while back now and haven't looked back! Enjoying it a lot more as there is so much more potential for modification imo. Yes I have thought about doing that sort of thing, in fact on my project I only showcase what I do to my own car. But whilst I work and do modifications on mine, my best friend is a massive help and we also do stuff with his performance blue focus ST as well - we did his dials and surrounds in orange, including the speedos and then put blue tint material behind the clocks and now it shines through in blue instead. Personally I think If I'm going to do it, I will keep the white for the speedo but where the red-line markings are, i'd change them to green. It was a job that took some patience  just because we had to cut the glass and the glue to seperate everything. I will be doing this when we can find the effort :P

Update time :)

Start with a snowfoam pic best bit about a wash :)20170422_084903.thumb.jpg.635bed9b953c7cd5c438f56a8cdd5db8.jpg

On to the upgrades! So before I dropped a hint that I had obtained a newish Airtec Stage 2 Intercooler. The original writing was red, and obviously this didn't fit in with the theming of my car. I took it upon myself to re spray the cooler in satin black and then add lime green Airtec symbol to match everything up.. I used a stencil and the same paint I used for my callipers.

20170422_111316.thumb.jpg.92ef194e38172885da4da4b4e1f7b0d0.jpg  20170422_155308.thumb.jpg.b6613d41d118aed0889e011ae367c883.jpg

The Focus ST struggles on the standard intercooler and it's pretty much an essential upgrade to increase power significantly. Should help keep my intake temps down, and helps produce better power. As you can imagine it's quite a bit larger than the standard item from factory...

20170422_154940.thumb.jpg.edf1bbae08dcc784b1aefc518e9560c1.jpg

Wasn't too bad of a job to get fitted, did take a little time but not as bad as people made out. Didn't even need to remove the front bumper, just dropped undertrays and worked next to the radiator.

Fitted!

One of my favourite shots from the front to show the cooler;

I also felt that I should try and stick with just a more dominant colour so instead of having the white writing badges I got a new set ordered on gloss black background with lime green writing. If anyone wants these made to your specification, I can send you the right way (£28 for full set incl front, back, steering wheel, and 4 wheel centre cap overlays).

I also wanted to support the Focus ST OC as I am now a member and use the forums on there quite a lot, learning new things and conversing with others

20170430_080712.thumb.jpg.533f952e5f3ba49c9f7d66e14fa1d4a7.jpg

That's it for now, the car is running the best it ever has with the intercooler on! I think it's starting to come together look wise, I do have another modification coming for the visual side of things (more so atleast) however am having to chase the company up sadly. Will update when I can as per usual, thanks guys

The car looks mean! That shot from the front showing the intercooler is fantastic. I'm not usually a fan of those stick on number plates but your front end looks so good I think it's worked out well here.

Thanks man starting to look agressive now :) Aye I know what you mean, I didn't want one over the zunsport grill and wanted maximum flow. I'm sure you've seen most people put them to the side rather than central, I kinda have mixed opinions on that look as I like symetry, and didn't want the hassle with Police. Central looks good to me.

Aha I am sure there are far better out there, but I really appreciate the comment thankyou! I have a long list of things to do so the car won't be nearing completion any time soon! Maybe then It will look the ***** ;)

Couple of updates!

First off, just a quick few examples of how the car is looking currently :) added a Ford Mania decal to the rear - this is one of my most favourite groups on social media

Got some mad shine after giving the car a good clean and taking it down to the shops. Caught the sun and BAM

20170510_080529.thumb.jpg.24d35ac1725b4d25094c9452981344f9.jpg

Had originally decided to paint my battery cover black so I could add some detailing decals on. And had the chrome fuse box cover too. Also changed one of the coolant hoses to the green one, but it is quite a tight fit so have ordered some different ones to get a better fit and hopefully have both done..

20170506_153605.thumb.jpg.c90665d4f4e7af2be1c28ba6671e8ea1.jpg20170506_153634.thumb.jpg.3d6578b58a1fd23f2f59c7ad24c269f2.jpg

These didn't last long.. I managed to find some carbon parts to replace them! I'm a simple person...I see carbon.. I like. battery cover & Fuse box cover replaced with the carbon ones.

Hopefully in the coming month I will be looking to replace the orange silicone hoses with lime green ones and give these ones to my friend as his theme is orange based.

Completely off topic but my favourite car from the AMG fleet at work is now not going to be used for experiences as it's getting on a bit for the track.. RIP C63 Black Series (6.2 ltr NA beast)

20170514_180727.thumb.jpg.adf518f1246fecb5e3e453931d5402ee.jpg

OK back to things.. So the last few months (although I have been still modifying) I have been trying to save for something called the Block Mod. This procedure in essence is strengthening the engine in order to run more power through it. It's prep work before I am able to get the car remapped and bring in some of those horses we are all looking to attain!

The block mod is a really long job as it involves taking the head off. It's basically a super major service including changing cam belt, tensioners, water pump, head gasket, cleaning all of the cylinder heads and piston components. Whilst this is all done, metal shims are implanted inbetween the cylinder wall liners in order to strengthen the engine. I now have no worries about getting the 'cracked liners' or overheating the car by adding more power.

I have a tonne of photos but I'll just put in a few to show some of the work..

Arrived at BD Performance in Dover around 8.30 AM20170520_083420.thumb.jpg.aac5f49a0817ee1a2cdd252b5682aee0.jpg

Came down with my friend who was also having the same work done. This is the first time BD performance in Kent have attempted to do 2 in a day.

20170520_083508.thumb.jpg.dbdeb9ebdf71babfa55d2700a45da36c.jpg

Cheeky foreign RS also in for some work. They had about 5 or 6 Focus STs and Focus RS outside the unit.. Which was to come in handy later on when I explain..

We knew the job was going to be all day so thankfully Andy Cashmore from BD performance let us borrow his Red Focus ST (one of a few). The car was stage 1 remaopped to around 280 bhp which was interesting!

Place to go was obviously Dover White Cliffs

20170520_103622.thumb.jpg.8fd57b85c16cfa8e1f4ebc2f28092e2e.jpg  20170520_103519.thumb.jpg.f3b2d42f646dff51ca85922d331c919d.jpg

The cliffs were a good viewing point that's for sure!

20170520_112359.thumb.jpg.d8a0735da90e11e2e06a0db44dc28365.jpg

And down to some of the actual work.. When we headed back to the unit half way through the day our engines were in bits being reworked.. painful to see but also a pleasure..

received_10158751463190607.thumb.jpeg.a40fb651438054a186db34fbed8661fe.jpeg

Camshafts reworked into engine, after everything was being cleaned up and ready to go back on.

New head gasket on down below

received_10158751469045607.thumb.jpeg.d7405bd2a0a613cdd6677ee42087fffc.jpeg

And that's the metal shim being inputted between the cylinder walls to prevent cracking through temperature!

received_10158751465925607.thumb.jpeg.1ea406a91320d592d6b28df5aae16051.jpeg

All done and dusted..

received_10158751466850607.thumb.jpeg.e8807296beeabdbc755915874ba103e5.jpeg

So around £600 later (with discounts and free parts put in) the work was all finished. We left the unit at around 8 so all in all a good 12 hours work to get both cars completed with their new reconditioned & protected engines. That's a big milestone in the race to get the car running more power!

The guys at BD were amazing to us, constant updates throughout the day, these pictures were taken by Andy as he was working on mine and sent through, lent us an ST to go and have some fun in. They also rang us up at Lunch time for some passenger rides..

They had a Collins Performance CP340 Focus ST in (which is what me & my friend are aiming to get) so they were kind enough to take us out for a spin in that car and my goddddd.... It was just nuts boosting the way it did, still ctaching plenty of traction and it honestly felt like there was no lag for the turbo to spool up again after changing gear it was right on hard boost the whole way. Very impressed with that.. way better than I thought it would be.

But to top it all off, Andy also took us out in a 500 bhp Focus RST which ran boost at 26 PSI...Absolutely nuts! What a good asset to use..They were good to us, I'd recommend talking to Andy Cashmore from BD performance Kent if you do want any work doing and live down South. Highly recommend

Thannks for reading, I know there was quite a lot of words/story there!

With those cylinders being so close together and small wall thickness its something i cant see why ford never did from new, btw love the build and love the sound of a 5 pot if only i could have a 5 pot noise in my mk3 st :( was the CP340 ST a mk3?

My ST looks very similar to yours from the out side but mine is a bit more dirty as it needs a good wash lol

Had the Collins CP340 done on mine with block mod and RS clutch (clutch is a must) this was done at Collins themselves at Congleton. What you say above is right you will just love this and smile every time you drive I recommend it  . My avatar is mine having the block mod done at Collins As you say if you have the cash you can get a lot more out but it begins to get silly money .I love BD performance Tubular manifold. I have also  done a few cosmetic mods like you, my next is the  RS bonnet vents (on  this Monday) and the  rear diffuser as soon as they can do it the following week.I'm sort of toying weather or not to fit the RS spoiler I dunknow about this yet. One thing I would do is fit EBC  or mintex uprated break  pads as they go hand in hand with the engine mod  (it feels faster although its not as they give you more confidence that it will stop so you can drive it a bit harder). To get more out, that  I would like I would need it forged £7000ish and a new bigger/modified turbo(and I would like that tubular manifold oh hum dreams) another £3000+ it gets silly,I must stop looking at your post as I want to do it lol Probably won't as the CP340 is really enough  for me in real terms you will like it.Forgot to say had the Collins quick shift that's quite nice too.

Yeah I get what you mean, it's a shame it has to be done in order for any performance work to begin really. Haha it's always the noise, I would love to put videos in these forum posts but I'm not sure that is a feature. That's one of the reasons I wanted the mk2 over mk3. The mk3 misses that 5th cylinder for noise unfortuneately! No the CP340 car was a mk2. It gave me great indication of what I aspire my car to run and it was overwhelmingly impressive. Bearing in mind I'm used to getting the go ahead to drive AMGs around at work, it really did give me a good buzz of excitement and surprising power.

Actually can't wait to have it done. I'm needing to save now really, got about £1500 left before I can get it all done (RS clutch, RS injectors, Collins Actuator & CP340 Map). I bet the vents will look awesome, I'm considering it in the future but I'd probably go for something different! Which diffuser have you gone for? I'm 100% for the RS spoiler, it's one of the visual mods I want to do soonish gives it that extra level of agressiveness. Yeah can't disregard the need for brakes. That's silly money! Friend is having his with Garrett turbo and forged engine etc soon as they found a cracked piston.. The map he was running from a well known tuner was too agressive for standard internals it appears. Have been debating getting a quick shifter as they are quite a cheap addition - would you recommend one?

As for the quick shifter I had that done at Collins  and was a Collins one as that was part of the mod I had done all at the same time that was Injectors actuator remap RS clutch quick shift and a  uprated white line rear anti roll bar .I like you didn't need the exhaust and inlet as that was already done. The rear diffusers I'm not sure what is will be yet but the body shop say it will look very RS like so I will know when they show me what they can get. The vents are very nice not genuine Ford ones though  ( you can't really tell as they are good quality) as Genuine  they are something like £150 second hand on eBay at the mo. One thing about the CP 340 you may or not notice is that at maximum boost the boost will drop off a little then re boost to max again I rang Collins about this and Gary said it was to cool the Cylinder and Pistons as they would melt otherwise so it 's not a fault but how it is.It doesn't affect how it drives at all but you may catch it when you look at the boost guage As I said you will need the clutch/flywheel as mine slipped a lot with the first 270 mod I had  but when taken out was like new  but was not man enough for the job in my case. Keep your mods going as I like to see what others are up to to give me Ideas I just love it.

Okay so NEW ADDITION..

Something i've wanted to do & have since even before getting the car.. probably is a love/hate thing but personally I love it and feel it's started to complete the rear end like the splitter did for the front!

GENUINE RS MK2 SPOILER

So landed on a right steal with this one.. travelled an hour to go collect what I told was an RS rep spoiler. Was going to spend £160 on it. Got there and the guy said he had just seen all the ford trademarks on the inside meaning it's a genuine RS spoiler worth 3x the price I paid easily xD Was so happy!

I will now post  a few pics to show a comparison between the look before and now;

So just a few comparison shots to show the difference in the same sort of angle photos. I also went and took some proper photos. I used the same locations that i've used previously to show how the car has come on in time, and also the fact I need some new locations haha

Let me know what you think.. I'm really loving the new look and it's changed the car dramatically. I have 2 more visual mods to do in combination together which will bring the whole article together in my eyes. Won't be too long before they are on I hope. Cookie points for who can guess the right combination.. have a guess :)

I must say car really does look fab!
I suggest get some RS alloys on in black to finish off. Not that st wheels dont look good but with the new aggresive look it doesnt stand out as much.or maybe change to say grey to stand out.

Aye I know what you mean about the wheels, but I think it might look like I'm trying to build an RS if I get the same alloys - think the spoiler is enough :P I'd get an aftermarket set if anything but in no rush as I actually quite like the ST wheels. Hopefully the 2 new additions I spoke of will help rectify this anyway xD Have had graphite grey alloys on my old Fiesta which was also a black, wasn't that much of a fan tbh defo looked better with the gloss black!

Haha thanks man :) I guess I will have to keep it secret or until someone guesses close.. I think it's a much needed change and is the first thing I'd think of when looking at my car aha
