Start/Stop Issues

Hey Guys

Since the summer ended, I have noticed that my Start/Stop system has ceased operation and no longer works as expected.

I was wondering if there was any experts on here? I've had my car at my local garage today and they've concluded that my battery is okay so what do you think?

Note: I have aftermarket DRLs fitted in the Fog Lights (OSRAM FOGDrls with integrated fogs) This has an ignition feed off the fuse box and a permanent feed off the + terminal.

I have disconnected the DRLs as a test to see if that is the issue but as of yet, the car is not yet stop/starting. What do you guys think?

If the car is showing the grey A on the dash, this indicates something is either using too much power for the system to kick in (I.e AC is running, heated windscreen is on) or the battery hasn't got enough charge in it or it just isn't holding charge properly.

It's purely down to electric use in the car, wipers, blower, headlights, heated screens.

It doesn't need much of a drain to stop the stop/start working.

Winter is the worst for all car batteries. Try switching most accessories off when driving if weather and conditions allow to allow the battery to recharge.

Or get a smart battery charger and charge over night. Ctec 5.0 are good.

Mine hardly ever works but to be honest I'm quite happy with that as it doesn't hammer the battery or starter. Unless you spend a lot of time stationary in traffic I don't think it makes any significant contribution to fuel economy or pollution reduction.

Mines stopped working now I only do 1.8 miles to work in traffic each way instead of 9 miles each way on country roads. Quite happy for it not working in the traffic im hitting at night .
