Hi! Me and the misses, like taking long roadtrips in Europe! For the first time we bought an to us almost new car! 2013 Mondeo, what i found strange was this car has no spare tire!

Can anyone explain how a "run flat tire" works!?

BTW our last roadtrip was in England/Scotland, and it was inspired by amovie! Can you guess what movie?

Does it not have an inflation kit instead?

Run flat tyres are awful for ride quality, very harsh and imparts a strange cornering sensation.

Mate of mine has them on his BMW and hates them.

Run flats usually come with some kind of kit that fills it foam to cover the puncture. Personally I think UK roads are rubbish for non flats.

Hi and welcome martin.

Your best bet is to locate a spare wheel for your car from the breakers and carry it as your spare. Peace of mind makes for a better journey

Run flats have reinforced side walls, so that if they loose all pressure the structure retains most of it's stiffness. Hence harder side walls means less give in the tyre structure which means the tyre does not absorb the bumps in the road anymore making the ride much harsher.

your tyres are very unlikey to be runflats, check the side wall of tyre for runflat markings, ford dont use runflats, you either get space saver tyre or inflater kit with liquid sealer(no good if you have a sidewall blowout)
