Wongy
nah VWs are boring.. they might be solid cars but it doesnt seem anything special.. when i see a GTi i dont think, wow.. when i see a astra/corsa VXR or just a normal fiesta it just grabs my attention i probably wont even notice gti's drive past me.. the new polo looks so boring and squared off compared to the fiesta's fantastic wild styling wins it over for me anyday, the interior feels so much more special too! Well that is your opinion (which I mostly agree with) but the polo is a very good car none-the-less. Im just playing Devil's Advocate. :D
Wongy
hehe they look very understated/clean styling, i always prefered wild styling, thats why i spent so much on mods for my car (nothing chavvy all genuine stuff) il have nothing to do with the ford apart from some very special wheels, some lower springs, front carbon splitter middle section bit and some things i have in mind ;)
DanGull
Some white Titanium pics to help... And for a direct Zetec S comparison...(yes, I know the Titanium is dirty ) I also add that the project manager of Ford is quoted as having said that the suspension setup of the Titanium is the optimum setup - the Zetec S was made harder only because people expect the sporty model to be stiffer (can't find the !Removed! link for this, new I should have marked it) In my opinion - it's a no-brainer, has to be a Titanium. The seats are plenty supportive enough (in fact at 6ft 3 and 17 stone I don't fit in the Zetec S sport seats) and the chrome looks much better (as for exclusivity, I've seen loads of white Zetec S - I've never seen another white Titanium with dress up in the flesh). The only thing I want - is the ability to turn off the ESP. On the toy front - you can't even have the keyless entry system on the Zetec S, which I love and wouldn't be without. Same with Cruise Control - which is standard on the Titanium. Auto Climate Control, Powerfold mirrors - both extras on the Zetec S. Adding the bodykit is a small price to pay if you ask me. I paid £12300 in September for mine - with no scrappage - including GAP and service plan.
Wongy
thats a brilliant price imo, with parking sensors, bodykit, wheels, and whatever you might have it seems a bargain! which garage was this ? and the pictures are brilliant the chrome does really set off with the white! thanks alot tit all teh way for me then woop :D
Wongy
wait i just read your spec list on your sig, how on earth did you manage to get it for that price with that spec??
DanGull
It was easy wongy - I even got diamondbrite thrown in for that money but later told them not to bother. My dealer is apparently the largest Ford group in the country (their words, I have no way of checking) - Heartlands Ford. I suppose that bigger dealers have more room on the discount front. One way of weighting the deal in your favour is to negotiate on monthly payment, rather than actual price. £300 a month compared to £350 a month seems less some how than £14000 to £12000, but in reality it's the same thing (figures off the top of my head, don't hold me on that maths :lol) Oh - and that price didn't include the pedals and sill plates, I added them later myself. Wongy
ah right i see, but doesnt mean longer monthly payments if you pay less though? ive been to leeds ford dealership 2day bad bad news.. me and my dad didnt realise we had to have the car sat on our drive by the 28th of February (scrappage scheme ends) means that i cant get the tit i want! :( he said the paintjob alone would be around 12 !Removed! weeks! i asked him what if fords already made them similar to my spec, the salesman said it would be very rare, because most !Removed! are in 5 door.. so chances of a 3dr with bodykit in WHITE would be very slim :( my heart sank.. although i then asked about the zetec S in white he said i could probably have one within a week! its just the other options to make it a better spec would slow the process down... argh! what can i do! PistolPete
I paid £12300 in September for mine - with no scrappage - including GAP and service plan. Did I get ripped off?!!! £12145: Scrappage applied so £10145. Zetec 1.25 Frozen White 3 dr Auto Headlights/Wipers Priv. Glass bluetooth w/USB CityPack Second Remote Key. compared to what you driving about in for £155 more? And I haven't got service Plan/Gap arranged yet. Dan you must have worn a short skirt? What's your secret?
DanGull
I did have a mix up at the dealership which I'd forgotten to mention - I was given a delivery estimate of 8 weeks on my original order (which was a black Zetec S) dealer phoned to say that the wait would in fact be 16 weeks! I said that I couldn't wait that long, so he came back saying he could offer me a Titanium for the same money. I then added the tech pack, but that's all, and paid no extra. There have also been at least 2 price increases since I placed that order (which was in May after all). Short skirt on me would have had the price going up - although the other half was there so maybe that helped
corsic-ar07
Well that's it then. I am officially the only person who actually likes the chrome on the titanium! :D I'm quite surprised people don't like it! I think it makes the car look smarter and of higher spec than just a standard plastic trimmed car. I have the Zetec S in black, but have changed the fog-light covers and it looks so much better (in my opinion). Would have liked to have got a titanium, but the second hand ZS seemed to be easier to get hold of for a reasonable price. Like the look of the chrome along the windows and on the rear. The plastic looks as if something is missing from it.

What 'toys' would you use/do you really need? Maybe see what extras you'd need on both Titanium and Zetec-S and go for the one that doesn't require as many extras? Wongy
Well id love the USB connections and stuff, (Tech pack) i want the interior pack aswel, also the climate control because i looked at the ZS the big knob was quite stiff to turn... my dad said buttons would be so much better then when we got in the TIT it was buttons! lol i wont mind leather seats, not really bothered about cruise control as i like to have full control of the car all the time. all the auto things wipers headlights etc. folding mirros, rear Speakers! am asking so much there lol
KeithC
So sad that you're willing to scrap that lovely Mazda for a Fiesta. I know the new Fiesta is a nice car - but still think its evil to scrap that poor helpless Mazda for one. Give him £2000 for it and everyone will be happy. KeithC
I too also like the Chrome. Love it on my black 3-door Titanium! Best colour to go with the chrome! :) Me too, it looks class.
KeithC
Do not buy without the USB, you'll only regret it like many over the last 6 months, it's the best VFM extra for the Fiesta. Love the Titanium although I hardly drive it.

DanGull
You were mentioned frequently - you lead a group in fact, those who got their cars and then buggered off. You and JAR were founder members
