SYNC does act as a Bluetooth module but also provides a host of other functions as well. If you could send me the registration number of your cars I will get the part number of the wire that links the aerial to the head unit as there are a number of options depending on what is fitted to your vehicle.
If you are just wanting DAB then the items you require are as follow bar the wire I've just mentioned (All FINIS numbers):-
1559265 Aerial Mast
1738453  Aerial base
1748717 Aerial wire, runs to rear of car clips into aerial amplifier
1744786   Aerial amplifier
1767007 Wire, links aerial amplifier to ground plate
1780026 Aerial ground plate
If your car is fitted with the earlier style two piece plug for the head unit you will have to make an adapter of which details can be found here:- http://www.fiestamk7.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1479
There are a number of headunits that can be used depending on what exactly you want. If you could let me know exactly what you are wanting to put into your car I'll provide a tailored list to your requirements. I cannot advise on bluetooth because I haven't got that far with my car yet.

Thank you so much of going to the hassle of getting all the part numbers together [emoji1303] I am looking to upgrade my non DAB Sony head unit to the Sony unit that has DAB my car is a 2010 titanium and has voice control, bluetooth and usb connectivity which I wouldn’t want to lose. Although is it’s possibly to upgrade to latest version of sync then I may be tempted to fit that too. I will pm you my ref number and if you can send me a tailored list of parts I require I would really really appreciate that.
Thanks again. [emoji106]

It's been so long since I actually updated anything here!

Well it has been a year of change for the little Fez, I now have a full Recaro interior fitted from the Focus RS donor including the back seats! Looking very factory fitted I must say :winkiss:

Also today I have taken delivery of something very saucy to go under the bonnet so stay tuned for that one....

A few other modifications have been planned after taking some inspiration from this years Ford Fair

Updated photos would be nice, I’m liking everything you have done and have planned for your car, a huge thanks to you for all the info and help through my Sony DAB addition, it’s flawless and works a treat, I have also added full leather heated seats facelift centre console with illuminated cup holders also illuminated gear knob, and electric rear windows with huge thanks to foc member liamstears for the effort he went to to help me wire them up. I’m becoming a bit bored due to this lockdown and have plenty time on my hands to retrofit more, however I’m not sure what, possibly sync module but unsure what’s required to get it working in my pre facelift.

Hiya just found this forum and I must say Im very impressed. I myself have a fiesta metal, with quite a bit done to it. Not a fan of the rear bumper though and want to get the fiesta st one like  yours. Is it a difficult install and do I need to buy the whole bumper of just the diffuser.

Thanks!

Hiya ive just found this forum and I must say i am very impressed. I own a fiesta metal myself and am interested in getting an st style rear diffuser like yours has got. Seems like its really transformed the rear end of your car. I was just wondering though, how hard is the install, and would I need to buy a whole st bumper, or does the diffuser just clip into my zetec s rear bumper?

Thanks!

It would be easier to find an ST bumper, the lower side pieces on your bumper need swapping to the later style the ST uses.

Been an awful long time since this had any update, so here it goes...

Car has been running sweet as a nut, started a new job last year which resulted in me doing nearly 50 miles a day! Not good, ended up buying an absolute beast of a Peugeot 107 😂 Just to get me back and forwards to work and with Ford Fair confirmed for 2021 I was so excited! Lets get the 2.3 Ecoboost motor dropped in... Unfortunately due to delays, complications, people and companies letting us down big time it didn't make it to Ford Fair... Majorly disappointed.

Last run out in the North York Moors before strip down: -

One very low mileage 2.3 Ecoboost from a Focus RS:-

Gearbox needed before test fitting, with the amount of power going to be transmitted through the front wheels of this mad machine a LSD just made sense. A Quaife unit was sourced and strip down of the box commenced: -

I know that a 2.0 EcoBoost swap has been done by TimWeeble over on the passionford forums, as far as I'm aware a 2.3 swap hasn't been done.

So with the gearbox all bolted up it was time to check for the fit: -

20210616_170858.thumb.jpg.88b0ada070fde982b231f8c0e1c6154c.jpg

So far so good, it all fits into the hole with not much room to spare either side. Next we put the crossmember back in place to check for clearance to to the rad pack:-

It's close but it all fits! (Yes the engine is wonky don't worry) Next on the agenda was engine mountings, we originally planned on using the existing Fiesta engine mounts and modifying them. I then set about creating some foam models in the hope of getting some bespoke engine mountings CNC'd from billet aluminum meaning I could bolt them straight to the existing Fiesta mountings and not having to butcher the existing: -

20210618_191033.thumb.jpg.23f8c01e09382d7d581323205a9c774e.jpg

And this is where the whole plan fell apart really, I spent nearly 4 weeks ringing various CNC companies around the North East. Some didn't want to know and others said "Yes we can do that no problem!" only to call back days later to say they couldn't.

Only just discovered this thread, great work.

Who did you try for CNC work?  There may be others that you don't know about, up here.

I tried absolutely everyone I could find within the North East. If you know of someone who can do custom work it'd be good for future reference.

Superstar! Thanks for that, I've got some big calipers to fit to this and need some brackets manufacturing so this will come in handy.

So next up was the intercooler, I had bought a RS intercooler complete with all pipework. The intercooler was massive! Absolutely no chance of it fitting behind the bumper let alone in the space I had. Sourced an aftermarket cooler with suitable dimensions: -

Had to cut out a section of the crossmember for a snug fit: -

At least the bumper fits!

Managed to manufacture some engine mountings from 3mm plate steel, made paper templates and welded the whole lot together. Unfortunately no pics of these before I fitted them to the car 😄

In the meantime the engine came back out and the subframe had to be modified for the offside driveshaft to clear: -

IMG-20210729-1214467-rewind.jpg

IMG-20210731-1859360-rewind.jpg

Out with the grinder and the mig welder, the strut had to be built back up in a curve to allow for sufficient clearance for the driveshaft. 3mm plate steel was used for the task

Whilst the engine was out I decided to clean up the engine bay and give it some paint, would be nice if it were painted properly in the factory but hey ho: -

Even gave the subframe a lick of paint whilst I was at it: -

I had to cut down some old Fiesta seat rails and bolt the Focus seats to them. Was the easiest way of doing so without some drastic modifications to the floor pan.
