Help?

I've posted a few times on here and always got some really good advice, so I'm back again :)

My mk1.5 Focus has just hit 80k although is 13 years old and due a timing belt. (It hasn't done many miles in the last 3 years until I bought it in Sept 2016.

I've noticed just recently that when I start it, switch everything off and leave to idle it doesn't sound quite right.

The only way I can describe it is by saying that when idle. The rev needle moves half an inch, every half a second or so for a good 5 mins or so and I can hear it revving. It's like I'm constantly tapping on the accelerator but I'm not...

Would this have anything to do with the timing belt not having being changed?

Rough idle, have a look at getting it serviced, all filters and maybe look into getting a carbon clean done like terraclean, I swear by it, it's ***** brilliant.

I dont think its to do with timing belt. Maybe its cold or idle sticking whilst cold.

Carbon clean? I've heard of it but not quite sure what it 'clean' I'll look into it :)
